Greg Mathis Jr. is set to marry the love of his life now that they are both brave enough to make their relationship public. The couple has revealed where and how many times they want to tie the knot. They partook in a photo shoot to make their announcement, and the star’s father also honored the pair.
In July 2024, Judge Greg Mathis Sr.’s son, Greg Jr., revealed that he was engaged. He and his fiancé posed for several pictures for the announcement, with the former confessing one of the things that held him back from revealing that he was dating.

“The Mathis Family Matters” star and Elliott Cooper are going to tie the knot in one of their “favorite vacation destinations,” Cabo San Lucas. The couple has set the date for their private ceremony on October 21, 2024.
The pair plans on having a second, bigger celebration for family and friends in 2025 in Los Angeles. Speaking to a publication, Greg Jr. said, “To be completely honest, for many years, we weren’t sure if we wanted to formally get married.”

The judge’s son revealed that he and Elliott knew they loved each other and wished to be lifelong partners, but “marriage seemed a bit more difficult to visualize.” The star’s fiancé noted how there weren’t “many married couples” like themselves to look up to.
But now they view their upcoming wedding as a “must-have” because representation is important in the LGBTIQ+ community. The couple said getting married is bigger than the institution because it is more about them having “a special way to honor the life we have built together.”

The pair shared their awareness of the times we live in now and what their relationship “represents to others.” They realized that their relationship and marriage can guide young and old Queer people who, like them, “deserve to know that there is nothing wrong with them and that they have a place in this world.”
Elliott and Greg Jr. mostly look forward to spending quality time with each other and their families in Cabo. Since their families only met once before the celebration, the lovebirds can’t wait to see how Elliott’s family, who are into the outdoors and are Southern, blend in with Greg Jr.’s.

In contrast to his fiancé’s family, Greg Jr. described his as “city talking” and loud. The couple, who spent the first five years dating in private due to being “afraid to share our relationship with the world out of fear of being judged,” have activities lined up for the wedding weekend.
The attendees will enjoy special dinners, whale-watching, and wine tasting. Elliott revealed how important family is for both of them and their union, as it is uniting their whole lives, including family. The couple courageously came out about their relationship on national television after Greg Jr.’s family decided on a reality show in 2022.

On September 29, 2023, Elliott proposed to the judge’s son at Los Angeles’ Republique French-themed restaurant. The establishment reminded them of their past anniversary trips to Paris. The country also happened to be the first place where they felt safe enough to hold hands.
Greg Jr. described Republique as their “little piece of Paris in Los Angeles.” Their friends and family were invited to the occasion under the pretense of supporting the pair at the 2023 Los Angeles Walk to End Lupus, which the couple hosted.

After having the first dinner course, Elliott proposed. His fiancé recalled how their loved ones “were so excited we couldn’t even finish the rest of our meal.” Still, what the judge’s son looks forward to is the honeymoon.
He said he hoped to convince Elliott to allow them to visit Bora Bora. The reality television star also can’t wait for them to start their family and to continue experiencing life together. He shared, “We are already a solid unit, but I’m excited for all of the added fun that the ‘Mathis-Coopers’ are going to have.”
Elliott, on the other hand, can’t wait for the first day of the rest of his life as someone’s husband. He said he was happy to spend the rest of his life with someone who loves him for who he is, including his crazy stories, quirks, and other random things he’ll dish out.
“With Greg in my life, I feel like our future has no limits, even though it might, because he is the love [of] my life,” the star’s fiancé concluded.

A day after sharing pictures of his engagement to Elliott, the couple uploaded a lovely video showing their photoshoot. The footage showed them transitioning from some of their different outfits and photoshoot locations. They captioned the clip, “On the Road to Marriage #MathisCooper.”
The duo were seen holding hands while wearing their Domi outfits before jumping into a car to their next destination. While driving, their outfits changed to the more formal Don Murphy jackets. Upon reaching their destination, they looked at a mountain top and posed in a different car.
The video concluded with the pair holding hands while sitting on the hood of the car. They clinked their drinks in their hands before the footage faded out with thanks to those who’d made it possible.
