Susan Sarandon’s 39-year-old daughter tied the knot in a beautifully enchanting ceremony. Despite looking radiant in her glamorous corset wedding gown, the new bride has found herself at the center of strong criticism from the public regarding her ensemble. Photos and details of the joyous occasion have been shared online.
Like a page straight out of a fairytale, Eva Amurri, daughter to iconic actress Susan Sarandon and famous director Franco Amurri, wed her beloved fiancé, Ian Hock, on June 29 in a stunning garden-themed ceremony. Pictures of the bride and groom saying “I do” in New York’s Hudson Valley have prompted strong reactions from the public, especially where Eva’s dress is concerned.

Opting for a more personal and intimate gathering, Eva and Ian exchanged vows in front of 40 guests. In addition to Eva’s mother, the guests included Susan’s ex, Tim Robbins. Adding a layer of sweetness to the day was the fact that the 39-year-old lifestyle blogger and actress’s children played a special role in the ceremony.

Speaking about incorporating her kids in her special day, Eva, who also shared an array of images from her big day on her Instagram Story, explained, “We really wanted to center our little family unit in all of it, and make it as much about the kids as it was about us.”

Mateo, Marlowe, and Major also made up the bridal party, as Eva did not have any bridesmaids. While expressing her excitement about the big day, Eva referred to her wedding as “Officially #TheBestDayEva.”

Little Major, who looked handsome in his tan suit and blue tie, had an extra special role to play at his mother’s wedding. Eva said, “Major […] walked me down the aisle, which was an experience I’ll never forget.” Aside from her children, Eva and her chef husband also ensured their other guests felt included in the ceremony.

The duo incorporated what they call a “ring blessing,” where their wedding rings were passed around among guests—row by row—”to put good energy into them” before exchanging vows.

A “French garden party” was the inspiration behind Eva and Ian’s big day where they worked tirelessly with their wedding officiant to create the perfect setting. Having been married before, Eva explained that the second go-around concerning planning was easier.

Though she didn’t have her three kids and admitted to feeling slightly stressed at times, she managed to pull off the wedding she and Ian wanted. Eye-catching photos reveal that the couple achieved what they set out to do.

Alongside her post, Taralynn captioned, “Eva + Ian tied the knot this past weekend with an intimate ceremony tucked away at @windrifthall in the Hudson Valley.”
The message continued, “They made their sweet blended family the center of the celebration, being joined by Eva’s three children, mother Susan Sarandon, and step father Tim Robbins. It was such an honor to be part of this wedding weekend and their @people magazine exclusive, with more to come later this week!”
Guests also shared lovely pictures they had taken while at the ceremony. Photos from Eva’s dad, Franco, and her friends, showed the great time everyone had at the beautiful ceremony. These beautiful photos also included attendees taking selfies with the bride and her kids.

Matching the whimsical charm of Hudson Valley, the location featured “lots of natural colors that mimic the environment at the estate, with little pops of whimsy with the chamomile flowers and hints of pale green and pale blue.”

Of the overall event, Eva revealed, “We worked with our officiant to craft a ceremony that felt super personal and intimate, and then focused on our second love of life: food! All we really needed was the beautiful atmosphere, our nearest and dearest, and a delicious party.”
With Ian being a chef and both him and Eva being foodies, the couple spent time curating a menu of only the most delectable cuisine. Grounded Catering provided Hudson Valley’s finest dishes, which featured mouth-watering Hudson Valley duck, a variety of salads and vegetables, and cedar plank salmon.
Guests’ meals were cooked over an open fire, and of course, in keeping with the theme of family and close friends, all the food was served family style. In addition to the main meal, there was also a selection of cheeses from local farms and vendors and charcuterie placed on grazing tables.
Regarding the drinks menu, the bar served up small vineyard wines and local beers. Eva and Ian’s guests also had their pick of two signature cocktails—a margarita made from fresh fruits and a non-alcoholic berry shrub. There was also champagne for toasting occasions.
Dessert included the newlyweds’ vanilla-flavored wedding cake. The cake was topped with fresh macerated raspberries and an Italian meringue buttercream. For the cake’s decoration, fresh chamomile flowers were used to wrap around the layered dessert. These were also the same flowers featured in Eva’s bouquet.
Regarding the main event of the day—meeting her now-husband at the alter—Eva walked down the aisle to a live acoustic version of the late and great Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love.” She donned a stunning, strapless, corseted gown designed by Kim Kassas, which featured a billowing skirt and a column shape.
She bought the dress in New York City at a shop called Bridal Reflections and divulged, “I love how it has a vintage feel and is ultra feminine without being overly pouffy. I wanted to feel sexy but elegant, and I think the dress strikes the perfect balance.”
Unfortunately, the majority of the public does not share Eva’s sentiments about her wedding gown, as many took to online platforms to express their disdain. “Inappropriate dress,” commented a social media user.
Echoing the sentiment, another expressed, “Don’t like Bridal gown too much Exposed.” “The dress is tasteless,” wrote someone else. An Instagrammer remarked, “What a tacky dress for a 40 year [old’s] second marriage.”
Commenting on what Eva’s mom wore, a fan praised, “Love Susan’s suit!” Amid the negative comments Eva received, there was a sweet message from an admirer.
The admirer penned, “Congratulations to you both ❤️❤️ or should I say all of you ❤️ you look gorgeous Eva 😍 I love your wedding dress 👰 your family is beautiful your Mom and dad look amazing ❤️.”
Aside from what Eva wore, her groom looked dapper in his SuitShop custom-made navy blue suit. The same design company also made Eva’s sons tan suits which were tailored to their sizes.
The mother-of-the-bride, who features in several endearing images with her beloved daughter and family, rocked a colorful floral pantsuit, perfect for the day’s aesthetic. Her famous actor ex, Tim, rocked a classy navy suit with a white formal shirt underneath.
Sticking with the designer of her wedding gown, Eva changed into another Kim Kassas dress later in the day. Her second dress featured feather trim, sparkles, and floral lace.

“Then we danced a family dance to ‘Joy’ by Andy Grammer, which is our special family song,” Eva noted. Even though Ian is not the biological father of Eva’s kids, he considers them as his own.

Sharing insights into the close bond Ian has forged with Eva’s children, the doting mom disclosed, “Watching him with the kids the last four years has been incredible as well. He is already the best stepparent ever.”
The smitten bride also spoke about how loving and supportive Ian is as her partner. “I really love how Ian takes care of me and the kids and is the most loving and considerate partner,” Eva began.
She continued, “He loves me and takes care of me in a way that lets me step into my feminine energy and be the mom I want to be because I feel so supported.”
She added that she considers Ian her best friend and cited that some of her favorite things to do with him include laughing and being goofy. Ian and Eva have come a long way since their first encounter when she was pregnant and had just gotten divorced from Kyle.
Initially coming over to her table at a restaurant where he was working as a chef to say hi to a woman Eva was with, who Ian had gone to high school with, Eva found herself captivated. “What ensued was a very special and somewhat old-fashioned courtship of getting to know each other pretty slowly,” she mentioned.

Before tying the knot, Ian popped the question to Eva in arguably the most romantic setting—Paris. He proposed to her in her favorite place, the gardens of the Rodin Museum in February 2023. Eva Amurri, who was bursting with excitement, shared the happy news with her mom, Susan Sarandon, via a video.
