Today at Target, I witnessed a moment that restored my faith in kindness.
While waiting for Grammi, Owen found some dinosaurs and eagerly grabbed three, trying to decide which one he liked best.
Just then, Owen shouted “HI” at an older man passing by. The man stopped, smiled, and began playing along with him.
Moments later, the gentleman pulled out a $20 bill, slipped it into Owen’s pocket, and said, “I just lost my 2-year-old grandson last week. Use this to buy all three dinosaurs for your boy.”
With tears in his eyes, he gently patted Owen’s back, wiped his own, and walked away. As Owen called out “thank you,” the man turned and shouted back, “Boomer Sooner!”
This brief encounter was a powerful reminder that kindness still exists.
